Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak trough of low pressure will remain near stationary over the northeast of the state for the rest of this week. A high 1024 hPa centred south of the Bight will move slowly east to be near Tasmania on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms from late morning until early evening northeast of Marree and over western parts of the state. Warm on the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds inland, tending moderate to fresh southeast in the afternoon. Fresh to strong south to southeast winds about the coasts and southern ranges.Thursday 26 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms northeast of Leigh Creek, otherwise fine and mostly sunny. Warm near the coast, hot to very hot inland with moderate to fresh southeast winds.Friday 27 JanuaryFine apart from isolated showers and possible thunderstorms east of Oodnadatta to Renmark. Light to moderate east to southeast winds. Warm to hot, grading to very hot inland.Saturday 28 January
Isolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Woomera to Maitland to Naracoorte. Warm to hot with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Saturday are expected to be mostly less than 3 mm. Local falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible with thunderstorms near the New South Wales border.
Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral and Flinders districts contracting northeast and clearing early in the period. Isolated showers about the Lower South East and remaining southern coasts and ranges clearing during Monday. Generally mild to warm, hot at first inland. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds developing.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
