MELBOURNE - Jan 24/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will continue to move east tonight. A weak low pressure trough over southwestern Victoria will move eastwards across Victoria tonight and Wednesday. A new high pressure centre will form south of the Bight on Wednesday, before moving towards Tasmania on Thursday and to the Tasman Sea on Friday and Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine. Generally clear with light winds inland and milder seabreezes near the coast extending inland in the south this evening.Wednesday 25 JanuaryFine apart from isolated early fog near the coast and the chance of early drizzle in the far southwest. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day in the north with light south to southeast winds. Mild to warm in the south with moderate to locally fresh southerly wind.Fire Danger - Very high in the north and west, high in the southeast.Thursday 26 JanuaryFine apart from drizzle patches developing in Gippsland in the evening. A warm to hot and sunny day in the north but milder and partly cloudy in the south.
