Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 23/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system east of Tasmania will move across the southern Tasman Sea tonight and Tuesday. A weak low pressure trough over South Australia will drift eastwards across Victoria late on Tuesday and Wednesday. A new high pressure centre will form south of the Bight on Wednesday, before moving towards Tasmania on Thursday and to the Tasman Sea on Friday.

Generally clear with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast.Tuesday 24 JanuaryFine apart from early morning fog patches in Gippsland. Warm to hot and mostly sunny with light to moderate northeasterly winds and milder afternoon and evening seabreezes near the coast.Fire Danger -  Generally High, reaching Very High in the Southwest and Central districts.Wednesday 25 JanuaryFine apart from isolated early fog near the coast. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day in the north with light south to southeast winds. Mild to warm in the south with moderate to locally fresh south to southeasterly wind.Thursday 26 JanuaryFine apart from drizzle patches developing in Gippsland in the evening. A warm to hot and sunny day in the north but milder and partly cloudy in the south. Moderate south to southeasterly wind and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 27 JanuaryFine apart from morning drizzle patches in the southeast. A warm to hot and mostly sunny day in the north, but mild to warm and partly cloudy in the south.
