Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 22/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A very slowly-moving upper level trough lies across northern New South Wales and a high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north coast. The high is slowly moving east and the ridge on the north coast will weaken by Tuesday. A low pressure surface trough will develop over the west of the state on Wednesday and then it will contract to the northeast on Thursday as a cold crosses the southern Tasman Sea. Anther trough is expected to move through the state during Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the north tending scattered in the far northeast and widespread near the far most coast with local heavy falls. Isolated on the south and central coasts and on adjacent ranges, clearing from the south. Partly cloudy in the southwest. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh near the coast.Tuesday 24 JanuaryPartly cloudy in the south and in the far northwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Showers tending scattered on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 25 JanuaryPartly cloudy in the southern inland. Rain areas in the northeast tending widespread near the coast and on adjacent ranges. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the central coast and on adjacent ranges. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 26 JanuaryPartly cloudy in the southern and far northwestern inland. Rain areas in the northeast tending widespread near the coast and on adjacent ranges.
