Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 21/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high south of Kangaroo Island will move slowly eastwards to be centred over the Tasman sea early next week. A weak trough of low pressure will extend into South Australia from the east during Sunday and remain near stationary over the following few days. A new high pressure system will develop to the west of the Bight on Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from isolated showers over the West Coast district north of Ceduna and over the Pastoral districts. Chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mild to warm near the coast, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds.Sunday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing from late morning in the east, extending to central districts during the afternoon. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds.Monday 23 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing over central and eastern parts of the State, with possible showers over the north and west. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds, turning southerly in the far west.Tuesday 24 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing over eastern, central districts and parts of Eyre Peninsula. Warm to hot on the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts.Wednesday 25 January
Fine apart from possible showers and thunderstorms over northern parts of the West Coast and Northwest Pastoral. Warm on the coasts, hot inland. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about eastern districts with local falls of 10 to 15 mm with thunderstorms. Generally less than 2 mm is expected elsewhere, with local falls to 5 mm with thunderstorms.
Thursday until SaturdayFine apart from isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the far northeast. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
