Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 20/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1022 hPa south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be centred near Tasmania on the weekend.
A weak trough of low pressure will extend into South Australia from the east during Sunday and remain near stationary over the following few days.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine near the northern border and over the agricultural area. Isolated showers elsewhere, with the chance of isolated thunderstorms over the far northeast of the Flinders and parts of the Northeast Pastoral. Mild to warm near the coast, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Saturday 21 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far west and over the Pastoral districts. Chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mild to warm near the coast, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds.Sunday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms developing late morning in the east, extending to central districts during the afternoon and tending scattered in the east. The chance of isolated showers in the Northwest Pastoral. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds.Monday 23 January
Fine over eastern parts south of Broken Hill, the remainder of the southern agricultural area and the far west coast. Isolated showers and the chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms elsewhere. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh east to northeast winds, turning southerly in the far west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday until midnight Monday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over the West Coast district west of Ceduna. Local falls to 10 mm with thunderstorms.
Tuesday 24 January
Cloudy though mainly fine about southern coasts and ranges. Isolated showers and the chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the remainder.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about eastern with local falls of 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms. Generally less than 2 mm is expected elsewhere, with local falls to 5 mm with thunderstorms.
Wednesday until Friday
Fine about southern coasts and ranges. Isolated showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms elsewhere, clearing from the west coast, Eyre Peninsula and the remainder of the southern agricultural area by Thursday.
