Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies off the northern NSW coast and another trough lies over the inland. A high pressure system south of the Bight is expected to drift slowly east during the next few days, strengthening as it reaches the Tasman Sea during the weekend. The inland trough should persist until at least Saturday. The coastal trough is forecast to persist along the northern coast of NSW until about Monday and will possibly re-intensify Sunday or Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine in the far southwest, in the central north and along the southern coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms remainder, tending scattered about the southern and central ranges. Southwest to southeast winds.Friday 20 JanuaryFine and partly cloudy in the far southwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms remaining districts on and west of the ranges. Isolated showers along the coast, chiefly in the north. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 21 JanuaryFine and partly cloudy in the far southwest. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered about the southern ranges. Chance of thunderstorms about the ranges and western slopes. Southeast to southwest winds.Sunday 22 JanuaryScattered showers about the coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated showers in the far west. Fine and partly cloudy remainder. East to southeast winds inland, southwest to southeast winds along the coast.Monday 23 JanuaryScattered showers northern coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated showers remainder eastern half. Fine in the west. Southeast to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Friday.Product IDN10031
