Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 19/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1023 hPa south of the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be centred near Tasmania on the weekend.
A weak trough of low pressure over the northeastern interior of South Australia will remain near stationary for the next few days.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over the West Coast, Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Marree. Isolated thunderstorms in the far west and over the Flinders and Northeast Pastoral south of Leigh Creek during the afternoon. Mild near the coast grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong about parts of the coast during the afternoon and evening.Friday 20 JanuaryIsolated showers over the Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Moomba to Marla, and over the West Coast west of Streaky Bay. Chance of isolated morning thunderstorms over the West Coast and in the afternoon over the Flinders district and Northeast Pastoral south of Marree. Mild to warm near the coast, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong about parts of the coast during the afternoon and evening.Saturday 21 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far west. Mild to warm near the coast, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh southeast to northeast winds, reaching fresh to strong southeasterly near the coasts in the afternoon and evening.Sunday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers north of about Ceduna to Clare. Chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms northeast of Port Augusta. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far north. Mainly moderate southeast to northeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be 1 to 2 mm, with isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm with thunderstorms.Monday 23 January
The chance of isolated showers except over the southeast of the State. Possible isolated thunderstorms over the northeast interior. Hot to very hot with light to moderate northeast winds, turning moderate southerly in the west.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm. Local falls to 10 mm with thunderstorms.
Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers, with isolated thunderstorms over the northern and eastern interior. Becoming milder about the coasts, remaining hot to very hot over the remainder. Moderate east to southeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
