MELBOURNE - Jan 18/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure will remain located over the northeast of the State, before moving slowly westwards during the weekend. A high pressure system southwest of the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be centred near Tasmania on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Coober Pedy to Broken Hill. Mild about the coast and southern ranges grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Mainly south to southeasterly winds, moderate to fresh, reaching fresh to strong about parts of the coast.Thursday 19 JanuaryIsolated showers over the Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Marree. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the Flinders district, and Northeast Pastoral south of Leigh Creek. Mild near the coast grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong about parts of the coast during the afternoon and evening.Friday 20 JanuaryIsolated showers over the Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Moomba to Marla, and over the West Coast west of Ceduna. Possible afternoon thunderstorms over the Flinders district, and Northeast Pastoral south of Leigh Creek. Mild to warm near the coast, hot elsewhere.
