MELBOURNE - Jan 15/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea directs a humid east to northeasterly air-flow over the state, bringing showers to most eastern districts, particularly the northeast where a weak upper level low is slow moving. A trough is expected to develop off the North Coast early in the week with associated shower activity contracting to northeastern districts. Light showers are possible near Victorian border from mid week due to slow moving trough to the west. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and sunny in the west. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered along the northern and central coasts and ranges but less likely west of the Divide and in the south. The chance of thunderstorms over the inland north. Mostly east to northeast winds.Tuesday 17 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the northeast, tending scattered along the northern parts of the coast. Fine remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 18 JanuaryShowers in the northeast, more likely along the northern half of the coast. Isolated showers about the Victorian border.
