Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A band of cloud from ex Tropical Cyclone Heidi extends over the far northwest of the State and will clear to the north late Sunday and early Monday. A high 1025 hPa south of Kangaroo Island will move eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea this evening. A cold front is expected to move across the far west late on Monday and the remainder of the State on Tuesday, except the Northeast Pastoral.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine apart from patchy rain in the far northwest. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Monday 16 JanuaryHot and dry with freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler southerly change about the western border during the evening. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing with the change.Tuesday 17 JanuaryHot to very hot and dry with moderate to fresh and gusty northerly winds, ahead of a milder southwesterly change in the far west extending to a line near Coober Pedy to Renmark late evening. Isolated showers developing with the change and possible thunderstorms west of about Ceduna.Wednesday 18 January
Isolated showers extending over all but the far northeast, but clearing from coastal districts during the morning. Isolated thunderstorms possible over southern pastoral and northern agricultural areas, chiefly during the afternoon. Hot to very hot in the north with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds. Mild to warm near the coast with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning until until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2-10 mm over western parts of the State.
Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers possible over all districts apart from the coastal fringe. Mild to warm near the coast but hot elsewhere. Mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
