Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 14/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight is moving slowly east and will pass over Tasmania on Sunday, reaching the Tasman Sea at night. The high will approach New Zealand on Monday as a trough of low pressure reaches the Bight. The trough will enter southwest Victoria late Tuesday afternoon and will cross the remainder of the State during Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayClear over the north, but partly cloudy over southern Victoria. Moderate to locally fresh southerly winds.Sunday 15 JanuaryFine apart from isolated morning drizzle about the central coast. Cloud in the south clearing during the morning with a mild and mostly sunny afternoon to follow although cooler along the coastal fringe. Warm and sunny over northern Victoria. Light south to southeast winds, freshening along the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate over Gippsland, locally high over remaining districts.Monday 16 JanuaryFine apart from early morning fog patches over Gippsland. A warm to hot and mainly sunny day with moderate northerly winds, although milder seabreezes developing along the Gippsland and far west coast during the afternoon.Tuesday 17 JanuaryMostly sunny morning then cloud increasing from the west in the afternoon and isolated showers developing over the southwest later in the day. Warm to hot northerly winds freshening in the afternoon ahead of a cooler south to southwesterly change over the southwest in the late afternoon and evening.Wednesday 18 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over most districts, although showers clearing from the southwest. Warm to hot in the north and east with northerly winds, but milder southerly winds gradually extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
