Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight is moving slowly east and will pass over Tasmania on Sunday, reaching the Tasman Sea at night. The next cold front will move into the Bight late on Monday as the high approaches New Zealand. The front will likely weaken as it moves into western Victoria on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine over the north. Isolated light showers in the south contracting to the coast in the afternoon then clearing. Mild and partly cloudy in the south. Warm and mainly sunny in the north. Moderate to locally fresh south to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate reaching high in the north and west.Sunday 15 JanuaryIsolated morning drizzle about the central coast and isolated afternoon showers developing about the northeastern ranges. Otherwise a dry and mostly sunny day. Warm with light to moderate east to southeast winds, milder near the coast with moderate to fresh afternoon seabreezes.Monday 16 JanuaryIsolated showers possible near the eastern ranges. A warm to hot and mainly sunny day with moderate northerly winds, although milder seabreezes developing in the afternoon about the coastal fringe.Tuesday 17 JanuaryMostly sunny morning with cloud increasing from the west in the afternoon and isolated showers developing over the southwest later in the day. Warm to hot northerly winds freshening in the afternoon ahead of a cooler south to southwesterly change over the southwest in the late afternoon and evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
