Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge across New South Wales. A low pressure trough will deepen over the northeastern inland today, moving westwards during Sunday as the high moves eastwards and reaches the southern Tasman Sea. Humid easterly winds will extend westwards over the state, bringing increasing cloud and unsettled weather in many eastern and northern districts.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers on the south coast and ranges. Fine and mostly sunny in the west and in the south west of the divide. East to northeast winds in the northeast, and south to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 15 JanuaryFine and sunny in the west. Rain areas along the northern coast and adjacent east ranges. Showers elsewhere, tending scatted in the northeast but less likely in the southeast. Thunderstorms possible over many of the northern and central districts. Southeast to northeast winds.Monday 16 JanuaryFine and sunny in the west and along the southern inland border. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered along the northern coast and ranges but less likely over the inland and in the south. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly east to northeast winds.Tuesday 17 JanuaryShowers and possible thunderstorms in the northeast, tending widespread along the northern half of the coast. The chance of showers about central parts of the coast and adjacent east ranges. Fine remainder.
