Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 13/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A band of cloud extends over the northwest of the State from the remnants of Tropical Cyclone Heidi. A high 1028 hPa south of the Bight is near stationary. The high will move eastwards during the weekend to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Sunday night. A cold front is expected to move across the far west late on Monday and most of the State on Tuesday. A new ridge of high pressure will develop to the south of the Bight mid next week as a weak trough remains over inland parts.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from isolated showers in the far northwest. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds and fresh to strong coastal sea breezes.Saturday 14 JanuaryFine apart from isolated showers in the far northwest and isolated light morning showers about the Lower South East and southern Kangaroo Island coasts. Mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds and fresh to strong coastal sea breezes.Sunday 15 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far northwest. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Monday 16 JanuaryHot and dry with freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler southerly change about the western border during the evening. Isolated showers developing with the change. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm, but reaching 2-5 mm in the far northwest.Tuesday 17 January
Hot to very hot and dry with moderate to fresh and gusty northerly winds, ahead of a milder southwesterly change extending to a line from about Coober Pedy to Renmark by late evening. Isolated showers developing with the change. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until Midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2-10 mm over western parts of the State.
Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers contracting to the northern agricultural and southern pastoral districts. Hot to very hot in the north with light to moderate northerly winds. Mild to warm about the coasts with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
