MELBOURNE - Jan 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow-moving high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge across New South Wales. A low pressure trough will deepen over the northeastern inland later today and during Saturday, moving westwards during Sunday as the high reaches the southern Tasman Sea. Easterly winds will return during this time, bringing warmer and more humid conditions, leading to unsettled weather in many eastern and northern districts. Forecast for the rest of FridayThe chance of showers in the far northeast, and about the south coast in the evening. Fine elsewhere, with some high cloud at times. Southeast to southwest winds.Saturday 14 JanuaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers on the south and central coasts and ranges, and the chance of afternoon thunderstorms about the central tableland. Fine and partly cloudy in the west. East to northeast winds in the northeast, and south to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 15 JanuaryFine and partly cloudy in the southwest. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scatted in the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms. Southeast to northeast winds.Monday 16 JanuaryFine and partly cloudy in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scatted the north coast and ranges but clearing from the southwest.
