Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 12/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system remains south of the Bight allowing weak cold fronts to pass over Tasmania on Friday and Saturday. The high will move eastwards on Sunday, reaching the Tasman Sea at night. The next cold front will move into the Bight late on Monday as the high approaches New Zealand.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Friday 13 JanuaryIsolated showers in the south, clearing. Fine elsewhere. A cool to mild day with generally light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  High in the north.Saturday 14 JanuaryIsolated showers in the south contracting to the east during the afternoon. Mild and partly cloudy in the south. Warm and mainly sunny in the north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds.Sunday 15 JanuaryPartly cloudy in the east with isolated showers. Warm and mainly sunny in the remainder. Southeast to easterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Monday 16 JanuaryIsolated showers in the far east.
