MELBOURNE - Jan 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is rapidly moving away, while a high south of the Bight extends a ridge into New South Wales. This high is expected to be very slow moving during the next few days, reaching Bass Strait during the weekend. Later on Friday or Saturday, a low pressure trough is forecast to deepen over inland parts of Queensland and northern New South Wales, shifting westwards on Sunday as the high extends a ridge along the coast. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers near the central coast and about the far southeast at first. Fine and generally sunny elsewhere. South to southwest winds, fresh to strong along the coast at first.Friday 13 JanuaryFine and partly cloudy throughout. Southeast to southwest winds.Saturday 14 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers on the south and central coasts and ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeast winds in the northeast, and south to southeast winds elsewhere.Sunday 15 JanuaryFine and partly cloudy in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scatted the north coast and ranges.
