Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 11/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A band of rain extends into the far northwest of South Australia from Tropical Cyclone Heidi off the Pilbara coast. A high 1026 hPa south of the western Bight is near stationary. The high will then move eastwards during the the weekend to be centred over the Tasman Sea by Sunday night.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPatchy rain in the far northwest. Isolated showers about the Lower South East coast. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 12 JanuaryFine apart from patchy rain in the far west and isolated early light showers about the Lower South East coast. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.Friday 13 JanuaryFine apart from patchy rain in the west and isolated early light showers about the Lower South East coast. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.Saturday 14 January
Fine apart from patchy rain in the far northwest and isolated light morning showers about southern coasts. Mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.
Sunday 15 January
Fine apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far northwest. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm in the far west and less than 2 mm elsewhere.
Monday until WednesdayHot with freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler southerly change, reaching the western border early Tuesday, a line Coober Pedy to Adelaide around midnight Tuesday and Oodnadatta to Marree Wednesday evening. Isolated showers following the change, scattered in parts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
