MELBOURNE - Jan 10/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A band of rain extends into the northwest of South Australia from a tropical low off the Pilbara coast. A cold front will move over the Lower South East coast late this evening. A high southwest of Perth will move slowly eastwards to be centred well south of the Bight on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPatchy rain north of Coober Pedy, tending to areas of rain in the far northwest. Isolated showers about southern coasts and ranges. Cool in the south grading to warm in the northeast. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending fresh west to southwest in the south, strong about southern coasts.Wednesday 11 JanuaryPatchy rain in the far northwest. Isolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to the Lower South East coast during the afternoon. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds, strong at first about southern coasts.Thursday 12 JanuaryFine apart from patchy rain in the far west and isolated early showers about the Lower South East coast. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds.Friday 13 January Fine apart from patchy rain in the west and isolated early showers about the Lower South East coast. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds. Saturday 14 January The chance of isolated showers in the far west. Mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast to northeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon until midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts. Falls of 2 to 10 mm are likely with rain in the far west. Sunday until TuesdayThe chance of isolated showers in the northwest on Sunday and Monday, otherwise fine.
