MELBOURNE - Jan 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough over the northeast of the state is moving east. A deep low pressure system lies to the south of Tasmania. An associated southerly change is moving north along the NSW coast. It is expected to reach the Queensland border this evening. A slow-moving high pressure system will move south of the Bight on Tuesday extending a ridge to the northeast of the state while a few weak cold fronts are expected to move through the southeast over the next few days. Forecast for the rest of MondayEarly isolated showers on the south and central coasts clearing. Isolated showers in the northeast with chance of thunderstorms near the coast in the afternoon. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest winds extending throughout.Tuesday 10 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and on the far south coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, turning northeasterly along of the coast.Wednesday 11 JanuaryIsolated showers in the far southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
