Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 9/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A series of fronts, embedded in the westerly airstream on the eastern flank of an approaching high, will move over the south of the State in the coming days. The high is expected to move very slowly eastwards to be located south of the Bight by the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to southern coasts during the day. Showers increasing to scattered near the Lower South East coast in the evening. Patchy rain in the far northwest. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 10 JanuaryIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area increasing over the Lower South East to scattered showers with possible thunderstorms late afternoon and evening. Patchy rain in the far northwest. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, becoming fresh to strong about far southern coasts.Wednesday 11 JanuaryIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area gradually contracting south and clearing by late evening. Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms at first about the Lower South East. Patchy rain in the northwest. Mostly mild with moderate southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 12 January
Fine apart from patchy rain easing in the west. Mild to warm grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate southeast to northeast winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon through to midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 10 mm about southern coastal areas. Falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible with the rain in the northwest and thunderstorms.
Friday until SundayIsolated showers in the west extending eastwards before contracting towards the north at the weekend. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coasts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
