MELBOURNE - Jan 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front with an associated deep low pressure system to the south preceded by low pressure trough will move across western and southeastern New South Wales tonight before weakening over the northeast of the state during Monday. A slow-moving high pressure system will move south of the Bight on Tuesday extending a ridge to the northeast of the state while a few cold fronts are expected to move through the southeast over the next few days. Forecast for the rest of SundayMostly clear on the the far north coast and partly cloudy in the far west. Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the southeast, contracting east and clearing. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the west and southeast.Monday 9 JanuaryIsolated showers in the northeast with chance of thunderstorms near the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest change extending throughout.Tuesday 10 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and on the far south coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, turning northeasterly along of the coast.Wednesday 11 JanuaryThe chance of showers in the far southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
