Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 8/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure is moving across southeastern parts of the State as a deep low moves over waters well to the south. Another front will move over the southeast during Tuesday and Wednesday on the eastern flank of a high. This slow-moving high is expected to be located south of Western Australia by late Wednesday, then continuing eastwards towards the Bight later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers northeast of Woomera to Renmark with isolated thunderstorms in the far north, all contracting north during the day. Isolated showers developing over the agricultural area, scattered at times during the morning about the ranges and southern coasts. Cool to mild with fresh west to southwesterly winds extending throughout, strong about southern coasts.Monday 9 JanuaryIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to southern coasts during the day. Patchy rain in the far northwest. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 10 JanuaryIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area increasing to scattered showers about the southeast coast later. Patchy rain in the far northwest. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, becoming fresh to strong about southern coasts.Wednesday 11 January
Isolated showers about the agricultural area, increasing to scattered showers about southern coastal areas. Patchy rain in the far northwest. Mostly mild with moderate southwest to southeast winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning through to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm over the agricultural area, increasing to 5 to 10 mm over northern parts of the Pastoral districts. Local falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible with thunderstorms in the far north.
Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area clearing early in the period. Possible isolated showers in the west and northwest. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coasts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
