MELBOURNE - Jan 7/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea is moving east maintaining weakening ridge to New South Wales north coast and a low pressure trough is approaching the western border of the state. The trough will move to the northeast of the state tomorrow before moving offshore on Monday. The trough will deepen over the western Tasman Sea during Tuesday and a low will form within the trough by Wednesday. The low is expected to move rapidly towards New Zealand during Thursday as another high moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the east. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers developing in the far southwest overnight and the chance of showers over the far northeastern inland. Mostly clear elsewhere.. Northeast to northwest winds freshening in the far west ahead of a south to southwest change.Sunday 8 JanuaryMostly sunny on the the far north coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms extending through the remainder from the southwest. Hot in the northeastern inland. North to northwest winds and coastal seabreezes ahead of a southwesterly change in the west and southeast.Monday 9 JanuaryIsolated showers in the northeast with chance of thunderstorms. The chance of morning showers on the southern half of the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest change extending throughout.Tuesday 10 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the north coast and on the far south coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds, turning northeasterly along of the coast.Wednesday 11 JanuaryThe chance of showers on the far north coast and in the far southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
