Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 6/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over the far west is expected to move across western parts of the State during Saturday morning then the central and eastern parts during the afternoon and evening as a deep low moves across waters well to the south. Another front will move to the south during Tuesday and Wednesday. A high will develop southwest of the Bight later on Wednesday then move slowly east later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayHot with isolated showers and thunderstorms extending throughout all but the far northeast by evening. Showers increasing to scattered southwest of Coober Pedy to Renmark during the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms becoming scattered over western districts with possible heavy rainfall, gusty winds and hail. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder southwesterly change moving across western and southern parts of the State during the day.Sunday 8 JanuaryIsolated thundery showers, scattered at first in the Flinders, Mid North, Riverland and south of the Northeast Pastoral districts, easing and contracting northeast during the day. Isolated showers continuing over the agricultural area. Cool to mild with fresh west to southwesterly winds, strong about southern coasts.Monday 9 JanuaryIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area contracting to southern coasts in the evening. Isolated showers in the far northwest. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 10 January

Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning through to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over western districts. Local falls of 20 to 40 mm are possible with thunderstorms.
Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area clearing by Friday. Possible isolated showers in the far northwest. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh at times southwest to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
