MELBOURNE - Jan 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front is moving across far western New South Wales and a high pressure system is moving south of the Bight extending a ridge behind the front. The front will move through the west and southeast of the state today before weakening into a trough over the northeast on Thursday. The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Friday and then it will move south-southeast maintaining the ridge to the north coast. Another frontal system is expected to move through the state during Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMostly sunny on the far north coast and partly cloudy in the inland central northern parts. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, clearing from the southwest. Hot to very hot north to northwest winds ahead of a cooler southerly in the west and southeast. Conditions tempered along the central and northern coast by sea breezes.Thursday 5 JanuaryMostly sunny in the southwest. isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Hot in the northern inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 6 JanuaryIsolated showers in the north, clearing from the northwest in the morning. Isolated showers on the south and central coast. The Chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. South to southeasterly winds.Saturday 7 JanuaryIsolated showers on the north coast and ranges, and along the southern border.
