Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 3/12 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards northern NSW. During Wednesday a cold front will move across the west and and southeast of the state before weakening into a trough over the north on Thursday. Behind the front another high pressure system will move towards Tasmania on Thursday and then to the east of Tasmania on Friday. Another frontal system approaches the west of the state on Saturday, and will move through the state during Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the southeast and isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the far southwest. Mostly clear remainder. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of an overnight southwesterly change in the southwest.Wednesday 4 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far southwest of the state extending to the east and also developing about the northern ranges during the afternoon. Conditions expected to remain fine and mostly sunny about the northeastern inland and the far northern coast. Hot to very hot over much of the state with north to northwest winds ahead of a cooler southerly change through western and southern districts. Conditions tempered along the central and northern coast by north to northeast sea breezes.Thursday 5 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the north and east, tending scattered about the northern ranges. Generally sunny in the southwest. Hot to very hot day over the northern inland, milder southwest to southeasterly winds over the remainder.Friday 6 JanuaryShowers in the east and northwest more scattered in the northeast. The chance of thunderstorms, most likely in the northeast. South to southeasterly winds extending to the northeast and becoming more easterly during the day.Saturday 7 JanuaryIsolated showers in the northeast, and develoipng along the southern border districts.
