MELBOURNE - Dec 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary as a trough of low pressure moves into the far west of South Australia during Sunday, extending throughout early next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayDry and hot to very hot with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, fresh at times in the west and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Sunday 1 JanuaryPossible isolated thundery showers developing west of Nullarbor. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder moderate to fresh southwesterly change moving over the far west during the day.Monday 2 JanuaryPossible isolated thundery showers west of about Port Lincoln to Coober Pedy by the end of the day. Hot to very hot northerly winds ahead of a milder moderate southwest to southerly change reaching Oodnadatta, Hawker and Renmark late evening.Tuesday 3 January Isolated showers moving over areas west of about Coober Pedy, Adelaide and Mount Gambier by the end of the day, with thundery shower possible northwest of Spencer Gulf. Very hot inland. Warm to hot elsewhere as moderate southerly winds extend over agricultural areas. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm. Wednesday until FridayThe wind change will move into the Northeast Pastoral district and clear to the east early in the period. Isolated showers and and possible thunderstorms are forecast to gradually contract northwards and mostly clear on Wednesday.
