Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is located just east of Tasmania and will move slowly over the Tasman Sea during Sunday and early next week. A trough of low pressure will enter western Victoria on Monday before weakening. A stronger trough will extend from the west late Tuesday, reaching far eastern areas early Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine tonight. Partly cloudy over Gippsland, but generally clear elsewhere. Light to moderate east to southeast winds, fresh about the coast.Saturday 31 DecemberPatchy morning fog in Gippsland. Warm to hot and generally sunny, although milder in Gippsland. Light north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes extending inland in the south during the evening.Fire Danger -  Generally high.Sunday 1 JanuaryAreas of morning fog over Gippsland then a hot and generally sunny day. Light to moderate northerly winds and milder afternoon sea breezes developing along the coast.Monday 2 JanuaryDry and hot and mostly sunny with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds. A milder southwest to southerly change reaching the southwest during the afternoon and central districts during the evening before weakening.Tuesday 3 JanuaryWarm to hot with northwest to westerly winds ahead of a cooler southwest change extending from the west during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers developing over most districts with the chance of thunderstorms about the far eastern ranges.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
