Weather Situation A high pressure system is located just east of Tasmania and will move slowly into the Tasman Sea over the weekend. A trough of low pressure will move over western South Australia on Sunday and approach western Victoria on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers or drizzle near the Gippsland coast contracting to far east Gippsland then clearing in the afternoon. A warm to very warm and sunny day in the north. Mild to warm in the south with morning cloud mostly clearing. Light to moderate east to southeast winds, fresh about the coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderate over the Northern Country and Gippsland, high elsewhere.Saturday 31 DecemberPatchy morning fog in Gippsland. Warm to hot and generally sunny, although milder in Gippsland. Light east to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes extending inland in the south during the evening.Sunday 1 JanuaryAreas of morning fog over Gippsland then a hot and generally sunny day. Light northerly winds and milder afternoon coastal sea breezes extending inland in the south during the evening.Monday 2 JanuaryMostly dry, just the chance of some isolated showers near the northeast ranges in the afternoon.
