Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 29/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight is moving east very slowly extending a ridge to New South Wales north coast. The high will move east of Tasmania on Friday, strengthening the ridge along the coast. The next southerly change is expected to move through the state during Wednesday as the high moves towards New Zealand and the ridge weakens.
Forecast for the rest of FridayThe chance of showers about the coast and the chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms in the far northeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeasterly winds, turning easterly in the west.Saturday 31 DecemberThe chance of coastal showers. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
