MELBOURNE - Dec 29/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight is moving east very slowly and extending a ridge to New South Wales north coast. The high will move east of Tasmania on Friday, strengthening off the NSW coast over the weekend before moving slowly towards New Zealand and maintaining the ridge to the north coast. The next southerly change is expected to move through the state during Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers about the coast. The chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms in the far northeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, fresh about the northern coast.Friday 30 DecemberThe chance of showers about the coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
