MELBOURNE - Dec 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure has moved up the New South Wales coast. A weak cold front will cross Tasmania today before a high pressure system forming over the Bight extends a ridge across southern Victoria tonight and during Wednesday. The high will be centred just southwest of Victoria on Thursday before moving east to lie east of Bass Strait by Friday night. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated light showers in southern districts, mainly morning. Cool and partly cloudy in the south, warmer and sunny in the north. Moderate southwest to southerly winds.Fire Danger - High in the north.Wednesday 28 DecemberIsolated morning drizzle possible near the coast. Morning cloud in the south clearing to a mild and mostly sunny afternoon. A warm and sunny day over the north.
