MELBOURNE - Dec 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough will move through northeast NSW today and weaken as a ridge strengthens over southern parts of the state. A low pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea will move slowly to the south/southeast over the next couple of days as a high pressure system south of the Bight moves slowly towards the southern Tasman Sea, maintaining a southeast airstream and isolated showers over the NSW coast. Forecast for the rest of Tuesday Scattered showers developing on the north coast. Isolated showers in the northeastern inland, on the central part of the coast and possibly about the western slopes of the southern and central ranges in the afternoon. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Isolated early fog patches. Southerly winds extending throughout, fresh to strong along the coast. Dangerous surf conditions along the the coast. Wednesday 28 DecemberIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers on the south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds.Thursday 29 DecemberIsolated showers about the central and northern coasts, and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Friday 30 DecemberThe chance of coastal showers. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
