MELBOURNE - Dec 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system southwest of Western Australia extends a ridge over South Australia. The high will move eastwards over the next few days to be centred near Tasmania later on Thursday, and over the Tasman sea on Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers near the northern border clearing during the afternoon. Isolated light showers about parts of the southern agricultural area, clearing during the afternoon. Mild near the coast grading to hot in the far north. Moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Wednesday 28 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Mild in the south grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.Thursday 29 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Mild to warm in the south, grading to very hot in the far north. Moderate southeast to northeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.Friday 30 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Hot to very hot. Moderate easterly winds turning northerly and freshening in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning through to midnight Friday are expected to be generally less than 1 mm.Saturday until MondayDry and hot to very hot with freshening northerly winds ahead of isolated showers developing near the western border on Saturday then extending to central and eastern parts of the State by Monday.
