MELBOURNE - Dec 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure ridge over central New South Wales is weakening as a trough enters the southwest. The trough will move to central districts during Monday, before becoming slow moving over the far northeast by mid-week. A high is expected to build over the Bight and extend a broad ridge over most of the state later in the week. Forecast for the rest of Monday Fine and partly cloudy in the far northeast. Scattered showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending isolated in the west and clearing from southwest. Northwest to northeast winds terning south to southwesterly in the west and southeast. Dangerous surf conditions along the the coast. Tuesday 27 December Scattered coastal showers. Isolated showers in the northeastern inland and on the south and central ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds extending throughout. Dangerous surf conditions along the the coast. Wednesday 28 DecemberIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds.Thursday 29 DecemberIsolated showers about the central and northern coasts, and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere.
