Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 24/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge over the state is expected to weaken as a trough enters the far southwest. The trough is expected to move towards northeast on Sunday and Monday, then weaken and become slow moving over the far northeast by the middle of the next week. A high is expected to build over the Bight and extend a broad ridge over most of the state later next week.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday
Isolated showers about the northern coast and ranges tending scattered on the far north coast. Isolated showers in the south with the chance of thunderstorms. Showers tending scattered near Victorian border. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeast winds near the coast tending northwest to northeast inland, ahead of a late southwesterly change in the far southwest.
Dangerous surf conditions along the northern half of the coast.
Fire Danger -  Very High in the Soutern Riverina.Monday 26 December
Mostly sunny in the far southwest. The chance of showers on the far north coast and ranges. Scattered showers elsewhere with the chance of thunderstorms, tending isolated on the Northwest Slopes and Plains. Northwest to northeast winds terning south to southwesterly in the west and southeast.

Tuesday 27 DecemberScattered coastal showers. Isolated showers in the northeastern inland and on the south and central ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southerly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 28 DecemberIsolated showers on the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
