Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 24/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure over South Australia will move northeastwards across the Pastoral districts today to reach a line near Marree to Ernabella this evening, then clearing from the far northeast Monday morning. A new high will move to a position south of the Bight late on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers extending throughout the State, apart from the far north and northeast. Possible isolated thunderstorms, mostly north of about Port Lincoln, Adelaide and Keith. Very hot in the north with moderate northerly winds, ahead of a milder fresh southerly change reaching a line Ernabella to Marree late evening.Monday 26 DecemberIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Pastoral districts, contracting north of Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek by late evening. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and west coast. Cool to mild in the south grading to very hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate northerly winds in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds elsewhere, gradually extending throughout.Tuesday 27 December
Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far north contracting northwards and clearing by evening. Isolated showers about southern coasts and ranges. Mild near the coast grading to hot in the far north. Moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, although isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible in the Flinders districts and south of the pastoral districts.
Wednesday 28 December
Fine and mostly sunny. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north. Moderate southeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning through to midnight Wednesday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm with local falls to 5 mm in thunderstorms.
Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers developing in the far west. Becoming hot.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
