MELBOURNE - Dec 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad trough of low pressure over Victoria will deepen during Sunday before moving away to the east on Monday. A cold front will move across Tasmania late on Tuesday as a high pressure system builds in the Bight. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayLocal fog and areas of low cloud in the south clearing this morning. Scattered showers and local thunderstorms developing during the afternoon, mainly about the ranges. Warm to hot and humid inland with light winds. A little milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes developing.Fire Danger - High in the west.Sunday 25 DecemberMild in the southwest with isolated showers. Warm to hot and humid elsewhere with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing, particularly in central and eastern areas. Moderate to fresh north to northwest wind across the north and east but south to southwesterly winds in the southwest extending to central areas later.Monday 26 DecemberScattered showers and local thunderstorms over the northeast, easing. Isolated showers in most other areas clearing from the west. Mild with moderate to locally fresh southwest to southerly winds extending throughout by the afternoon.Tuesday 27 DecemberIsolated showers in southern districts, mainly morning. Cool and partly cloudy in the south, warm and sunny in the north.
