Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high [1026 hPa] is centred near New Zealand. A trough of low pressure will move across coastal districts before moving over inland parts during Sunday and Monday. A new high will move to a position south of the Bight late on Tuesday and move slowly eastwards during Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and mostly sunny in the north. Isolated early fog about southern coastal districts. Cloud increasing in the south with possible isolated light showers developing near southern coasts later. Hot to very hot with moderate northeast to northerly winds shifting southerly in the south with sea breezes.Sunday 25 DecemberIsolated light showers extending over the agricultural area and southern pastoral districts. Possible isolated afternoon thunderstorms over inland parts. Hot to very hot inland with light to moderate northerly winds. Becoming milder in the south as a southwesterly wind change moves over agricultural areas during the day.Monday 26 DecemberIsolated showers contracting to the pastoral and Flinders districts by afternoon. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the north of the pastoral districts. Mild near the coast grading to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 27 December
Isolated showers in the far north contracting northwards and clearing by evening. Isolated showers developing about southern coastal districts. Mild near the coast grading to hot in the far north. Mainly moderate south to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, although isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible in the Flinders districts and south of the pastoral districts.
Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers about southern and western coasts clearing by Wednesday afternoon. Isolated showers developing near the western border on Friday. Conditions gradually becoming becoming warmer throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
