Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough and associated weak low lies offshore along the NSW coast. A second trough extends southward from Queensland into the northern inland of NSW. This trough is expected to linger inland for the next few days while a weak ridge builds along the coast and an onshore airstream develops. During the weekend the inland trough is likely to amplify and start moving east towards the coast early next week.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers in the northeast. Possible showers or drizzle patches about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges and slopes. The chance of thunderstorms over the northeast inland and along the central and southern slopes and plains. Fine elsewhere. Northeast winds in the northeast. South to southeast winds elsewhere.Thursday 22 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast, less likely in the far northeast. The chance of showers in the southeast. The chance of thunderstorms over inland parts. Fine in the west. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 23 DecemberThe chance of showers over the central western plains and northern inland. Isolated showers in the east tending scattered over the parts of the northeast and on the southern ranges. The chance of thunderstorms over inland parts. Fine in the far west. Southeast to northeast winds near the coast, tending light and variable inland.Saturday 24 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast and on the southern ranges. The chance of showers across the central and inland northern parts. The chance of thunderstorms inland. Fine in the west.
