Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high to the south of Tasmania will continue to move east over the Tasman Sea. A trough of low pressure over the far west of the State and will remain near stationary today before weakening on Thursday and moving slowly east on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers west of about Elliston to Leigh Creek, increasing to scattered showers with possible thunderstorms northwest of Ceduna to Woomera during the afternoon and evening. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Thursday 22 DecemberFine and mostly sunny apart from possible isolated early morning showers in the far north. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Friday 23 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Hot to very hot with mainly moderate northeast to southeast winds.Saturday 24 December
Fine and mostly sunny. Hot to very hot with moderate northeast to northerly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Thursday are expected to be up to 5 over parts of the West Coast and Pastoral districts. No rainfall expected from late Thursday through to midnight Saturday.
Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers developing over the agricultural area and southern pastorals Sunday, moving to northern pastoral districts late in the period. Isolated showers persisting about southern coasts early next week. Hot to very hot at first with freshening northerly winds ahead of a milder fresh southwesterly change on Sunday, extending throughout on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
