MELBOURNE - Dec 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the New South Wales north coast. A low pressure trough lying from the northern inland through to southern parts of the coast is gradually moving to the northeast. The trough is expected to affect north and eastern parts of New South Wales on Tuesday before stalling in the northeast of the state later on Tuesday, where it will remain for the next few days. Conditions should clear in the south and west in the wake of the trough as the next weak ridge moves overhead. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers in the northeast, with the chance of thunderstorms. Possible showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Northerly winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Wednesday 21 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast, with the chance of thunderstorms over the northeast inland. Possible showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere. Northeast winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Thursday 22 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast. The chance of showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere.
