MELBOURNE - Dec 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak high south of the state will move southeastwards. A trough of low pressure is developing over the far west of the State and will remain near stationary for the next few days. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms west of about Oodnadatta to Elliston, tending scattered in the Northwest Pastoral. Isolated showers over central parts, tending scattered at first over Eyre Peninsula, clearing during the afternoon. Mild about the coasts, grading to very hot in the northwest. Moderate southeast to northeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes, turning moderate to fresh southwesterly in the far west.Wednesday 21 DecemberIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms west of Port Augusta, contracting north during the afternoon and evening.Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Thursday 22 DecemberFine and mostly sunny apart from possible isolated early showers in the far north. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Friday 23 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Hot to very hot with mainly moderate northeast to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm in the far west and up to 2 mm elsewhere.Saturday until MondayFine and mostly sunny at first with isolated showers from mid level cloud developing over the agricultural area and southern pastorals from Sunday.
