Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the New South Wales north coast. A broad low pressure trough over central parts of the state is gradually moving to the northeast. The trough is expected to affect central and eastern parts of New South Wales on Monday before stalling in the northeast of the state on Tuesday where it will remain for the next few days. Conditions should clear in the south and west in the wake of the trough as the next weak ridge moves overhead.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers and thunderstorms in central and southeastern areas, extending eastwards and clearing from the west later. Isolated showers or patchy rain developing in the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny in the far west. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of a southerly change in the south and west.Tuesday 20 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast, with the chance of thunderstorms. Possible showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Northerly winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Wednesday 21 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast, with the chance of thunderstorms over the northeast inland. Possible showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere. Northeast winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds elsewhere.Thursday 22 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast. The chance of showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 23 DecemberScattered showers in the northeast. The chance of showers about the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges in the south. Fine elsewhere.
