Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high south of the state will move southeastwards extending a ridge over southern and eastern parts. A trough of low pressure will develop over the far west of the State overnight and will remain near stationary for the next few days.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the far west. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending fresh easterly in the west.Tuesday 20 DecemberIsolated showers extending to west of about Coober Pedy to Pt Augusta to Pt Lincoln by evening. Isolated thunderstorms west of Ceduna, mainly during the afternoon. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh in the west and with coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 21 DecemberIsolated showers west of Port Augusta and possible isolated thunderstorms west of Ceduna contracting north during the afternoon and evening.Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Thursday 22 DecemberFine and mostly sunny aapartfrom possible early showers in the far north. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Friday 23 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Hot to very hot with mainly moderate northeast to southeast winds.Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm in the far west and up to 2 mm elsewhere.Saturday until MondayFine and mostly sunny at first with isolated showers from mid level cloud developing over the agricultural area and southern pastorals from Sunday. Hot to very hot temperatures and freshening northerly winds, with a milder fresh southwesterly change in the far west on Sunday, extending east to reach the Northeast Pastoral on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
