Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extending into the Bight will move slowly southeastwards during the week. A trough of low pressure over Western Australia will move into the far west of South Australia on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated light showers about the southern agricultural area clearing by midday. Patchy light rain developing in the far west, with the chance of isolated late thunderstorms in the far northwest. Mild in the south grading to warm in the far north. Moderate south to southeast winds, freshening about the coasts in the afternoon and early evening.Wednesday 14 DecemberPatchy light rain extending over the west of the State. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast, tending northeasterly in the west.Thursday 15 DecemberPatchy rain with possible thunderstorms extending eastwards to about Ceduna to Oodnadatta. Mild to warm with moderate southeast to northeast winds.Friday 16 December
Patchy rain and possible thunderstorms extending to areas north of about Port Lincoln Clare and Broken Hill, increasing to areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms west of Streaky Bay to Coober Pedy. Warm to hot with moderate east to northeast winds shifting milder southwesterly over the far west later.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday evening through to midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm. Rainfall totals will increase to 2 to 5 mm over Eyre Peninsula and 5 to 40 mm west of Ceduna and Coober Pedy from Thursday morning.
Saturday until MondayAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms contracting to the eastern border and clearing during the weekend, with isolated showers about the West Coast district and agricultural areas following the rain.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
