MELBOURNE - Dec 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An upper level trough is moving across northeastern New South Wales. As the trough moves offshore, a weak low pressure system will form off the north coast later this afternoon and evening.The low will move rapidly to the south-southeast during Tuesday and Wednesday as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ridge to the north coast. The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea later on Friday and then it will move slowly towards New Zealand maintaining the ridge to the north coast. Another low pressure trough is expected to move over the west of the state on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of MondayShowers in the east, easing. Isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly clear elsewhere. South to southwest winds extending throughout, fresh to strong along the coast.Tuesday 13 DecemberIsolated showers coast and ranges. The chance of thunderstorms on the far north coast and ranges.. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeast winds, fresh and gusty along the coast.Wednesday 14 DecemberShowers on the central and northern parts of the coast and adjacent ranges as well as on the far southern ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere with sunny periods in the west. South to southeast winds.Thursday 15 DecemberIsolated showers on the coast and on adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 16 December Partly cloudy in the southwest. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered in the northeastern inland. North to northeast winds.
