has been cancelled.

Weather Situation
A trough situated across inland Queensland is moving in an easterly direction
and is expected to move off the southeast Queensland coast during today. A low
is otherwise expected to form near the northern New South Wales coast this
morning and move in a southeasterly direction across the Tasman Sea.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Patchy rain and isolated thunderstorms across northern, central and southern
Queensland this morning. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms across
southeast Queensland. Scattered showers and thunderstorms across the tropics and
parts of central Queensland with moderate to locally heavy falls possible.
Becoming fine in the west of the state. Moderate S to SW winds extending from
the west. Light to moderate W to NW winds elsewhere, fresh at times south of
Hamilton Island.
Forecast for Tuesday
The trough will continue to move in an easterly direction into the Coral Sea.
An upper trough will otherwise move across New South Wales and southern
Queensland. Isolated afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms on and east of
the Great Dividing Range. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will persist in
unstable conditions north of Richmond, more widespread through the northern
tropics. Fine conditions through much of western and central Queensland.
Forecast for Wednesday
A high will enter the Great Australian Bight and begin to extend a ridge
along the New South Wales and southern Queensland coasts. The upper trough will
otherwise move into the Coral Sea during the morning. Isolated showers will
occur over the east coast and adjacent inland south of about Bowen in the
onshore wind flow, with possible isolated thunderstorms due to instability
associated with the upper level trough moving off the coast. A moist, unstable
airmass will persist elsewhere north of about Bowen with scattered showers and
thunderstorms expected. Generally fine elsewhere apart from some high cloud
developing over the far southwest.
Forecast for Thursday
The high will move eastwards into the western Tasman Sea and will maintain a
ridge and fresh SE'ly wind over the southern and central Queensland coast, with
isolated showers continuing in the moist onshore wind flow. Another upper trough
will otherwise move across southern Queensland, increasing instability with
showers and possible isolated thunderstorms developing. Conditions will remain
unstable though the northern tropics and northwest with showers and
thunderstorms expected, possibly tending to rain at times about the north
tropical coast.
Outlook for Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Unstable conditions will persist over the tropics during the outlook period
with showers and thunderstorms expected. Cloud will increase over western
districts ahead of the next major trough system with showers and isolated
thunderstorms most likely increasing to thundery rain areas west of about
Longreach. Isolated showers are expected over remaining parts of the state, with
possible isolated thunderstorms inland.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST
Monday.
